history

Sabac was born in Guaynabo Puerto Rico along with his twin sister. His family moved to Brooklyn, NY when he was 4 years old. His mom and grandmother who are Sicilian Italian raised Sabac. Sabac grew up in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn, NY neighboring Bensonhurst and Coney Island. Sabac began his journey into hip-hop as a B-Boy and aspiring Graffiti artist (but was a horrible Graff writer). At the age of 12 Sabac began exploring the art of emceeing. He would listen to the mix shows and memorize other MCs lyrics. He would than make parities of the songs using his own lyrics. Sabac would perform at block parties, school talent shows and anywhere there was music and a Mic constantly battling other MCs. Till this day Sabac remains to be one the better MCs off the top of the head. At age of 15 while attending Lafayette High School in Brooklyn, NY Sabac would promote parties and shows for artist like T-La-Rock, Milk and Gizmo, Big Daddy Kane, Greg Nice and many other hip hop legends. He was into anything that was Hip Hop affiliated. While in school, Sabac found himself getting into trouble with the law. He had to do community service at the CityKids Foundation where he ended up learning how to use his lyrics to express his pain and the things that were going on around him. He received training in Facilitation, Conflict Management, Public Speaking, Curriculum Design and Implementation and much more. He began working at CityKids between school, touring and odd jobs. He worked his way up to become The Director of Programs at The CityKids Foundation. Sabac resigned from CityKids in 2004. (Sabac now lives in Oakland, California) After High School, Sabac went to recording engineering school where he got a degree in recording engineering. Sabac went on to work for Wild Pitch Records as the College Radio promoter. He also did street promotion for Nas' Illmatic and a number of artists in the early 90's. In 1995 Sabac hooked up with Ill Bill and there begin the relationship of what is now the legacy of Non-Phixion. Non Phixion is Ill Bill, Sabac Red, Goretex and DJ Eclipse. They have three distinct flows, three different voices and three different types of lyrical content, yet they all compliment each other in an impressive and powerful way. After 2 years signed to Geffen Records yielded nothing, Non Phixion continued releasing music independently and began touring the world on their own. They've performed in all of NYC's major venues and have done shows all over the US and the world. Some of the places that have witnessed Non Phixion live include Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Las Vegas, Detroit, Philly, Miami, San Diego, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Toronto, Amsterdam, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Athens, Reykjavik, Oslo, Milan, Zurich, Geneva, Copenhagen and Berlin and Bogotá Colombia. Some of the groups they have shared the stage with include Gangstarr, Run DMC, Wu Tang Clan, Rage Against The Machine, Mos Def, Hazen St., Ludacris, Blackmoon, Pharaoh Monch, Big Pun and Fat Joe, Cypress Hill, Necro, Q-Unique, The Beatnuts, Jurassic 5, Lordz Of Brooklyn, Jedi mind Tricks, Dead Prez, Hieroglyphics & the Roots. Sabac released his debut solo album Sabacolypse A Change Gon' Come on the independent Psycho+ Logical- Records. The album has received great reviews and continues to sell units worldwide. .... The last couple of years have been some of the most active for Sabac. The relocation to Oakland, where he is working under the Unified School District, consulting with principals, teachers and counselors to find out the social issues of the young people then helping to build curriculums to assist with their development. This became a serious commitment on a day-to-day basis. Sabac also recently got married to long time girlfriend Carina. .... While the love for hiphop never stopped, he kept busy with touring as co-headliner with Army Of The Pharaohs in Europe then joined the ILL BiLL/Tech N9ne and Paul Wall for the Fire and Ice” tour. Sabac also is doing solo spot dates and shows with Necro and all the PLR crew promoting his new solo album/DVD The Ritual. .... The time has come; The Ritual will be out through Psycho+Logical-Records on September 30th. That’s’ how the MC describes it: The main message is personal evolvement. As I think about the opening track "The Commitment" which is a track dedicated to my personal commitments including Eating better, Reading more, drinking more water, Respecting Women, Choosing Love over Fear, etc… I've accepted the reality of my personal growth as a Man and artist. This album is spiritual, honest and in my opinion inspiring.”.... We can find productions from Snowgoons, Skammadix, Sicknature, Blue Sky Black Death, ILL BiLL and more there are guest appearances by fellow ex-Non Phixion partners ILL BiLL, DJ Eclipse (scratch), Slaine of La Coka Nostra/Special Teamz and the Puerto Rican Anthem Viva Boricua feat.
